EMPLOYMENT DISPUTE SOLICITORS

Expert Legal Support for Work Conflicts

Even with the best of intentions, you may find yourself facing a dispute in the workplace. Disputes can arise at any stage of employment:

Recruitment, as job applicants are protected from discrimination.
During employment, such as disputes over poor treatment, or decisions like working patterns and promotions.
When ending employment, whether by resignation, dismissal, redundancy or retirement.
After the employment has ended, with disputes about restrictive covenants or misuse of information.

RESOLVING A DISPUTE

As soon as a dispute starts, it is sensible to seek legal advice to understand your legal position.

While most people think of a dispute as a tribunal or court claim, this is actually the last stage. There is a long process to resolving a dispute, starting with internal procedures for reaching and appealing decisions. Many cases never make it all the way to tribunal, as it is often more efficient for the parties to reach a settlement beforehand.

We can help you throughout the whole process, with work including:

Advice - Helping you understand your legal position

We examine all the evidence to advise you how the law applies to your circumstances, whether you have a legal case or defence and if so, how strong it is. We recommend taking advice as soon as possible, especially at the start of proceedings. Understanding your position will put you in a better position to decide whether to pursue the matter, to state your case and to negotiate a fair resolution. Advice may also be appropriate if you have reached a potential settlement independently, but want advice on whether it is reasonable.

Representation - Making a legal claim on your behalf

As your representative, we guide you through the claims process, making sure you meet deadlines, managing paperwork and liaising with the other side. We argue your case at tribunal or court hearings. If you are open to settling the matter, we will also try to negotiate a settlement on your behalf.

Settlement

Whether we have helped you to reach a settlement, or you have managed it independently, we can help ensure the settlement is well drafted and legally binding. This may mean drafting the agreement or advising you on the meaning and effect of an agreement you have been offered.
