On July 30th we held a cake sale to raise money for our chosen charity, local bereavement charity Edward's Trust.
We proved to be an office of star bakers, with highlights including homemade lemon cake from Paralegal Oliver, Brownies from Legal Assistant Tash, branded cupcakes from Business Development Officer Laura, and fruitcake from Principal Solicitor Ian.

Thanks to a lot of volunteering with Edward's Trust, Laura was able to share plenty of information about the services as she took the cake trolley around Vancouver House. While the cakes proved a huge hit (especially the lemon drizzle) even healthy colleagues who resisted gave very generously.

4 o'clock cake dates back to Edward House, a home from home accommodation that Edward's Trust ran for parents whose children were being treated at Birmingham Children's Hospital. Each day at 4pm the staff would bake, and the families at Edward House would gather for a chance to socialise and support each other over cake.

Thanks to the kindness of our office-mates in Vancouver House, we raised £68.31 for Edward's Trust. This would be enough to fund one wellbeing session for a bereaved parent, or buy craft materials for 7 children to take part in the 'Creative expressions of grief' project.
