On 9th July, our Principal Solicitor Ian Jones will be trekking 100km (62miles) across the Peak District to raise money for Edward's Trust, a local charity supporting families through bereavement.
Ian will be part of a team of 9, joining accountants Dains who are also keen supporters of Edward's Trust.

Setting off from Bakewell between 8-9am, they will complete a figure 8 shaped route of 100km, with 2450 metres of incline. Their walk will take them throughCalver, Tideswell, Taddington, Monyash, Minninglow and Rowsley, past Chatsworth House and through Chee Dale. They hope to complete the trek in 28 hours continuously - and all this after a night of camping!
So, why is Ian taking on this crazy challenge? Since 2018, Spencer Shaw Solicitors have been supporting Edward's Trust, a local bereavement charity based in Edgbaston.

Edward's Trust offers counselling, wellbeing support and play therapy for children who have lost a parent, sibling or carer and parents who have lost a child of any age, as well as pre-bereavement support where appropriate. They help families bereaved by any cause, including illness, suicide, accidents and violence.

Their vital work is all funded by donations, which is why it is so important to support them however we can.
