Our 31 in 31 Challenge
Posted on 4th May 2020
We're challenging ourselves throughout May for Edward's Trust
Unfortunately, social distancing and lockdown have had a huge impact on fundraising. Four events that our team were set to take part in (a bucket collection/raffle, the Birmingham Velo, the charity's annual Golf Day and a Rotary club DragonBoat Race) have been cancelled, along with countless other events.
Edward's Trust continues to provide support and counselling by phone for bereaved families but to do this, they need funding now more than ever. So we've decided to raise some money another way.
Last year, Edward's Trust celebrated their 30th anniversary with a 30 in 30 challenge. So this May we're taking on a 31 in 31 challenge for their 31st year! Here are the challenges we've set ourselves:
Ian will be completing 100 push ups every day - that's 3,100 push ups throughout the month!
Laura will be running 31 miles (those that remember her 3.5 hour Wolf Run will understand why this will take all month)
Andrea (a hula hooping novice) will be walking for at least 31 minutes a day, and finishing every walk with 31 twirls of a hula hoop
Ron is tackling two challenges! He will be running 31 minutes a day on his treadmill, and teaching himself Italian for an hour a day.
Oliver will be spending an hour a day learning German
We will of course observe social distancing while outside, and fit walks/runs into our one daily exercise.
