The care sector is changing, with increased demand for care at home and a reduction in residential care. The residential care sector has already reduced, with 14% fewer establishments. 
While demand for carers remains high, this is likely to mean jobs specific to residential care are at risk of redundancy. This could affect up to 188,500 workers currently in the care sector in non-care-providing roles, such as ancilliary workers and activities providers. 
 
Ian spoke to Care Home Management Magazine about how to make redundancies lawfully, to reduce the risk of legal disputes, compensation and fines.
