Our Business Development Officer Laura is climbing Snowdon in memory of her Dad, John Rollason.
Laura will be joined by a group of John's family, friends and colleagues on 8th October, the weekend of what would have been his 62nd birthday.

John climbed Snowdon in April 2017, the last sporty challenge he took on before he was diagnosed with MND in 2018. Just 4 years later he died in May 2021 - which shows just how quick and cruel MND is. He was incredibly proud of his achievement, and Laura and her family feel this is a great way to remember him as he was before MND.

Laura is raising money for the MND Association which provides:
emotional support for those with MND and their families and carers
financial support including grants for home adaptions, the huge amount of equipment required and improving quality of life
communication aids
research trying to understand the causes of MND in the hopes of finding ways to slow progression or cure the disease

MND affects up to 5,000 people in the UK at any one time - the risk of developing it is 1 in 300 (around one person in an average cinema screen). Each day, 6 people are diagnosed with MND and 6 people die of MND.

Here's how your donation could help:
£150 could fund a day's research by an MND expert
£1,000 would pay for detailed DNA analysis of someone with MND to support research
£2,250 can fund a text to speech device, which helps a person with MND communicate once their vocal muscles have stopped working. This was a lifeline for Dad, and can make an enormous difference to quality of life.
